Synopsis: The Theory of Everything is the story of the most brilliant and celebrated physicist of our time, Stephen Hawking, and Jane Wilde the arts student he fell in love with whilst studying at Cambridge in the 1960s.
Little was expected from Stephen Hawking, a bright but shiftless student of cosmology, given just two years to live following the diagnosis of a fatal illness at 21 years of age. He became galvanized, however, by the love of fellow Cambridge student, Jane Wilde, and he went on to be called the successor to Einstein, as well as a husband and father to their three children. Over the course of their marriage as Stephen’s body collapsed and his academic renown soared, fault lines were exposed that tested the lineaments of their relationship and dramatically altered the course of both of their lives.

I came across this movie just over a month ago, while I was searching for movies to watch online. And I was truly mad at myself for having it discovered quite late. I never heard anyone talked about this movie here in Malaysia, ever. And 2014 was a period of me obsessing over everything Japanese, where I kinda left the Western world of movies and series, so I am missing out a lot of stuff. So, I knew nothing about it, I didn't know Eddie won an Oscar for this movie, and it has got such positive feedback.
You're definitely missing out if you never watch this brilliant, well-made and spectacularly well-acted movie. Eddie Redmayne's and Felicity Jones' performances as the Hawkings are absolutely, one hundred percent, PHENOMENAL. Redmayne's physical transformations was astonishing to watch, but the subtle emotional transformations of him and Jones throughout the course of their first meeting to the last scene of them overlooking their children are what makes this piece of art a thousand times worth watching. My favorite thing besides the lead performances was the very pleasant score by Johan Johansson, the ending scene music piece by The Cinematic Orchestra, and also the breathtaking cinematography by Benoît Delhomme.
I don't have anything negative I can say about this movie. Overall, it is BRILLIANT and I AM OBSESSED.
